DeVotchKa to Headline Friday Night Lights at Keystone

On Friday, November 28, 2008, DeVotchKa will play a free concert in Keystone, Colorado. The performance will be held at the River Run Village at the base of the mountain, next to the new River Run Gondola. Free parking is available in the Montezuma Lot. How It Ends Chosen for Gears of War 2 Trailer

DeVotchKa's music finds a most surprising yet amazing pairing as developers of arguably the best video game in history have chosen the title track of How It Ends to score the trailer for Gears of War 2. Gears of War 2 is the award-winning and highly anticipated sequel to Gears of War, perhaps the most successful Xbox release in history (www.gearsofwar.xbox.com). It is a tactical shooting game that challenges users with survival components as well. The story-driven game revolves around revenge as a band of Delta COG warriors return to battle the Locusts. The graphics are amazing, the characters deep, and the gaming beyond anything currently available. The game was developed by Epic for exclusive use on the Xbox 360, and it will be released the first week of November. Catch the premier of the trailer on November 2, 2008, when it airs during the NFL Sunday Night Football game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts on NBC (check local listings).

MICROSOFT LIFTS CURTAIN ON GEARS OF WAR 2: LAST DAY AD CAMPAIGN

Microsoft sent word that the new Gears of War 2 Ad "Last Day" will begin airing today. The 60 second spot will hit the web, TV and Movie houses during the showing of trailers. Below are the air times and more information on the music and making of the 60 second spot. Please note all times and dates listed are subject to change; please check your local listings.

The "Last Day" ad will air in 15 countries. A selection of programming includes:

• U.S. – Nov. 2 during the NFL's Sunday Night Football presentation of the New England Patriots at the Indianapolis Colts on NBC
• Canada – Nov. 3 during the NFL's Monday Night Football presentation of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Washington Redskins
• France – Nov. 3 on Sci Fi Channel and MTV
• Mexico – Nov. 3 on FX, FOX and CVM networks during prime time programming
• Australia – Nov. 4 during The Simpsons on FOX 8, Nov. 7 on MTV during the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards and Nov. 10 during American Chopper on the Discovery Channel
• United Kingdom – Cinema spots including films such as Saw V and Max Payne; TV spots on Dec. 1 during The Simpsons on Sky One and Dec. 2 on Sky Sports 1 during Carling Cup Football

"Last Day" features the hauntingly beautiful music track, "How it Ends," by indie rock band DeVotchKa, which can be found on Zune Marketplace. The ad spot was created entirely within Unreal Engine 3, the same graphics engine technology used in the "Gears of War" franchise.

Microsoft and Epic Games partnered with ad agency T.A.G SF, special effects house Digital Domain and director Joseph Kosinski, the same collaborative team that created the award-winning "Mad World" (2006) television commercial for the original "Gears of War" campaign.
